Educity is envisioned to act as a feeder of talent to support the various economic avtivities of the four nodes  in WPS and beyond

 

Educity will be drawing its focus on the needs and requirement from the automotive, heavy industries and tourism sector

Tapah is a town and the capital of Batang Padang District. The name "Tapah" is said to be originated from the name of a fresh water fish, "Ikan Tapah". The locals said that the name has been taken from the Malay-Perak dialect word which means "no worry“.

Today, Tapah is set to be a fully integrated education hub, housing selected faculties of universities and advanced skills colleges and educational institutions, Tapah is the perfect location to create light spirited intellectuals. Its catalyst development, EduCity is envisioned to act as a feeder of talent to support the various economic activities of the four nodes in WPS and beyond.

EduCity will initially focus on the needs and requirements from the automotive, heavy industries and tourism sector. While it continues to build the talent pool to immediately serve these growing industries, it will remain sensitive towards the future needs of the emerging sectors and the nodes. With academia industry and R&D centres, student accommodation and amenities, Tapah provides an excellent environment in cultivating the right type of talent.

Collaboration between academia and industry is made possible via commercial research and development hubs. Supporting and ancillary enterprises will be housed in SME Parks, providing a complete ecosystem to allow industrial growth and sustainability.

The tourism industry plays a supportive yet significant role across the development, creating additional value to support the economic activities in WPS.
