New Township - Educity

Positioned as the talent feeder of WPS, EduCity is the catalytic development in Tapah, on a contiguous parcel measuring approximately 3,700 acres. The development will be located just outside of Tapah town, the famous gateway to tourist destination Cameron Highlands, and will enjoy access to existing amenities of the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Tapah Campus. A home branch of Universiti Teknologi MARA in Perak, UiTM Tapah is equipped to house 5,000 students, with ready facilities such as lodging, food and recreational centres.

Good accessibility to major cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh and Penang, all within the radius of under 2 hours, expands its catchment area of potential students.

EduCity is set to be a fully integrated education hub, housing selected faculties of universities and advanced skills colleges and educational institutions, R&D centres, student accommodations as well as recreational and sports facilities. The abundance of land allows for a large scale development plan which will include the campuses of the institutions, supported by a township to serve the population of students and staff.

The initial focus of EduCity is to develop the talent pool for the existing and growing industries, namely automotive, heavy industry and tourism. Industry academia collaboration can be nurtured through R&D centres as well as commercialization initiatives. The objective is to ensure that the talents for the industries for each of the nodes are nurtured and groomed, ready to serve the industry.
